Now that we’ve received Torah, we focus our attention on the Divine Presence that permeates our universe. The practice of calling attention to the Divine Presence has led to the creation of a tradition of art known as the Shiviti. The Chafetz Chaim pulls together the notion that the whole world is filled with God’s glory, and it is the duty of conscientious people to constantly reflect that we are ever in God’s presence. This is the meaning of the verse: “I place God before me always” Psalm 16:8
